Dansville Chamber of Commerce has announced its annual Winter in the Village event this year will be from 9 a.m. to 9 pm. Saturday, Dec. 1. Organizers anticipate this to be the largest, most exciting festival to date.
Downtown Dansville will come alive with activities planned throughout the day and well into the evening. The annual Arts & Crafts Sale will continue this year at the North Dansville Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Another yearly favorite, Santa lighting the Christmas trees in Church Park, will serve as the unofficial start of the evenings activities. Many local businesses, vendors, artisans and entertainers will be located throughout the downtown district to delight the many visitors. The tradition of the Wine Tasting Tour will also take place with at least eight different locations and a multitude of New Yorkwineries participating. Those participating in the tasting tour must stop by the Wamp Real Estate office to start the tour. While there, participants will be provided with a special bracelet that will gain them access to the various stops along the way.
New this year is the opportunity for children to have their pictures taken with Santa. Santa will be located inside at 171 Main Street with Lasting Memories Photography donating its talents for the event. Monetary donations are being accepted for the photo opportunity, which will go to the C.A.N.N. agency so it can create Holiday food baskets for local families. Many local school and civic groups, including Dansville Rotary Club, local Girl Scout Troup #51079, Noyes Hospital, EBH Childrens Chorus and Band performers as well as many others are also participating. Genesee Community College's Dansville satellite campus is also hosting a multitude of events including an open house, dance performance and art exhibit.
