Dansville’s Art and Music Extravaganza is only two months away.
The festival will be held in Dansville’s Historic Main Street Business District on Saturday, Aug. 7.
Ossian Street will be closed from Main to Elizabeth Streets where a variety of concerts will be held from 10 a.m. until dusk. The performances will include music from folk to blues, jazz and the big band sound as well as dancers and vocalists.
Another area for listening pleasure will be found in front of One29Main across from the Post Office. Restaurants will be open for their delicious food specialties and, of course, Connie’s Waffles will be in her usual spot in front of The Book Den.
The sidewalks along Main Street from Perine Street to Chestnut Avenue will house artists and crafters selling their wares from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. There are spaces yet available for more artists and crafters. Applications are available by contacting Alice Burdick at 585-335-3965 or Jane Petti at 585-335-6536.
The festival’s goals are to promote area artists, crafters and musicians, and to promote Historic Main Street’s restaurants, retail businesses, public library and Star Theater.
Festival goers are also encouraged to explore Dansville’s other many businesses. Drive around and enjoy a wonderful small town.
To support the Arts and Music Extravaganza, send a donation to:
The Dansville Area Chamber of Commerce, 126 Main Street, Dansville, NY, 14437.
Names of individuals, businesses and organizations will be listed on the Program of Events.
The Arts and Music Extravaganza is sponsored by the Dansville Area Chamber of Commerce. Further information can be found by calling the Chamber Office at 335-6220.
