Fall is quickly upon us as November arrives in full force. A beautiful weekend reminds us the temperatures can change drastically this season. Please send your students to school with hats and gloves tucked in their backpacks and sweatshirts and sweaters to use throughout the day. A number of lost items can be located in the lost-and-found boxes in the buildings. Some of the boxes are already filling up, so if you are missing something, have your child check it out.
Thursday, Nov. 15, teachers will host additional elementary conferences in the evening for those families that may not have already had them. High school families are reminded to contact teachers directly at any time via email in order to discuss your child’s progress. The annual senior trip takes the Class of 2013 to New York on Friday, Nov. 16, and returning on Nov. 19. The Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, in the LGI. There is roller skating for students in prekindergarten through fourth grade on Monday, Nov. 19. Thanksgiving recess is Nov. 21-23.
There will be an adult swim 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, with Ms. Ball. The cost for participating is $3. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult in the pool area. All non-swimmers must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Coast Guard- approved flotation devices will be allowed. This is an excellent opportunity to get in the pool with your family and enjoy some inexpensive family time in a healthy endeavor. (Please enter the building through the auditorium entrance. All payment is accepted at the pool.) The next family swim will be on Friday, Dec. 21.
The Middle School Robotics team will head off to competition on Saturday, Nov. 17. The will compete in four categories including FLL Core Values, technical presentation, project presentation and robot operations. We wish this small group of outstanding techies the best of luck!
Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country team competing at the state meet. Meghan Curtin placed 24th out of 146 runners and the team placed seventh overall. Great job on a fantastic season and thank you for showing that Golden Eagle pride.

Overall the team scored ninth out of 13 teams with 125 points. ere are some notes from the Coach Welch: second place — diving, Andreanna Bowers; fourth place — 500 freestyle Kelsey Burke; fourth place — 200 freestyle relay of Katie McAllister, Kadeynn McInnis, Andreanna Bowers, Kelsey Burke; sixth place — 299 freestyle, Kelsea Burke; eighth place — 200 medley relay: Katie McAllister, Kyleigh Cotter, Camryn Elliott, Kelsey Burke; nineth place — 400 freestyle relay: Kadeynn McInnis, Carson Mohler, Camryn Elliott, Kyleigh Cotter; 10th place — 100 freestyle Katie McAllister; 15th place — 50 freestyle Andreanna Bowers; 16th place — 100 backstroke Katie McAllister.
