For the third year, Dansville middle graders took part in Dansville Lions Peace Poster Contest. This year, the theme was “Imagine Peace.”
Seventy-three local students ages 11 through 13 in Greg McMaster’s art classes entered the contest. The posters could be any medium. Judges had to narrow the 73 entries down to two winners.
Eighth graders Cheyenne Markowski and Adrian Velezquez won first and second places respectively. Markowski received $50 for her winning entry, Velezquez received $25.
The posters were sent to Batavia for a district-wide judging. The overall winner from there will go to states, then the state champ will go to nationals. The national winner will compete in international judging.
