Tonight, Thursday, Dec. 22, is the last holiday performance. The fourth-graders will perform for their family and friends in the LGI at 7 p.m. All of the holiday performances, at the school and in the community, have been a real example of the hard work and talent put forth by Wayland-Cohocton students and staff. We hope you enjoyed their work and were warmed by their sharing of gifts.

As Christmas and the holidays peak around the corner, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the individuals, businesses and community members who support Wayland-Cohocton students and families.

For some the holidays can be a trying time. It is amazing to hear the stories of the generosity that is shared with the families we get a chance to know every day. So much is done in these small towns to support one another — is a daily reminder of what a great place this is to live.

Families of eighth-graders are reminded there is meeting Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 7 p.m. in the LGI. There will be information about high school courses, credits, programs and requirements. Families can sign-up for scheduling appointments to map out high school graduation plans. Please contact Mrs. Antkowiak at 585-728-2214 if you cannot attend the meeting but would like to be present for your child’s scheduling appointment. (Please call after the Jan. 4 meeting date.)

Students are on vacation Dec. 26 through Jan. 2. They will return to classes on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Some music students will be taking part in Solo Festival in Warsaw on Saturday, Jan. 7.

The Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. on Jan. 9 in the LGI. This is the first official meeting to discuss the budget development for 2012-2013 school year although, discussions about the difficult challenges ahead have been on the agenda all fall.

On behalf of the WC community we wish you a wonderful holiday season, a break from your routines and hopefully time to connect with those you love. May your new year be filled with wonderful experiences and plenty of opportunities.
