How did you get into your line of work?

I began as a teacher and was asked if I would like to take courses that would lead to administrative certification. I did and the rest is 40 years of history!

What do you like most about your work, and what do you like least?

I enjoy the opportunities administrators have to facilitate the great work that so many of our teachers do in and out of the classroom. I enjoy the variety of people with whom I work and the students and parents in our community. Keshequa is a great place.

I suppose that the thing that I like the least is dealing with that very small percentage of folks in education who make the assumption that “good enough” is “good enough.” It isn't!

What advice do you have for someone who wants to go into the field of education?

If one is thinking about making the field of education their career direction, I would first have them understand that it is truly a “journey of the heart.” Know what your personal strengths are and seek ways to have such strengths foster the personal and intellectual development  of students who will be in your classes.
