The Genesee Country Express is the news leader for southern Livingston and northern Steuben counties. The Dansville Breeze was established in 1851. In the early 1970s the Dansville Breeze along with the Wayland Register merged to become the "Gateway to the Southern Tier" — The Genesee Country Express. The Genesee Country Express is a paid weekly newspaper, published Thursday of each week. The Dansville-Wayland PennySaver is the corresponding free weekly shopper, distributed to more than 10,000 homes in Livingston, Steuben and Allegany counties.
