LIVONIA — A Monroe County man was arrested late last week after he allegedly fled from sheriff's deputies in a motor vehicle, failing to comply with attempted traffic stops in both Avon and Livonia.
Franklin A. Gay, 39, of Rochester, was arrested April 23 for driving while intoxicated, unlawful fleeing from a police officer, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Gay was arraigned in Avon town court and sent to the Livingston County Jail. Bail was set at $1,500 cash or $3,000 property bond.
The arrest was the result of Gay allegedly fleeing from deputies, and accessing speeds in the triple digits. At that point, pursuing law enforcement terminated the chase.
Authorities saids Gay later ditched the vehicle and attempted to elude arresting officers on foot before finally being taken into custody.
Gay refused to take a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol content.
Deputies Brandan Flickner and Arick Perkins, and Sgt. Matthew Orman handled the investigation.
