HORNELL— Rock in Peace.
Resting just wouldn’t suit a man like Bruce Ingersoll, who died Saturday in his home, according to those who knew him.
“It’s truly a sad day today in the Twin Tiers as we say goodbye to another friend,” said Jeff Allen Jones via Facebook. “Bruce was a local legend and talented musician that will be missed by everyone who knew him.”
He was constantly moving and rocking, participating in several bands, local events and even starring in the Hornell Furniture Outlets (HFO) regular television spots.
He has worked at HFO as manager for the last few years, but his true passion was music and the bands he was in.
Any person familiar with the Hornell area was certain to have heard Bruce in any number of bands including, Scorpio, Roadhouse, Moondance and most recently the Meat Cutters Union.
“The Meat Cutters Union, The Rogues, and Flexx are just a few of the many, many bands that Bruce was in over the years,” said Jones. “I find it hard to believe that we will never see Bruce on stage again.”
There will be no calling hours or services per Bruce’s request, but those wishing to honor him can make a memorial contribution to the Hornell Area Humane Society.
“I’m sure I speak for many when I say, ‘I’m going to miss you Bruce. Rock in Peace,” said Jones.
