Robert H. Carlier

Robert H. Carlier, 80, passed away March 27, 2014. He was born March 18th, 1934 in New Rochelle, NY, to the late R. Richard and Mildred (Schwarz) Carlier. Mr. Carlier moved to Chappaqua, NY, in 1939 and attended Horace Greeley High School. He graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in Business Administration and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Robert was commissioned in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. He served in Korea as a lieutenant and company commander for the 54th Field and Engineering Company. After his discharge, he worked for IBM Corporation in New York City and transferred to Rochester, New York in 1966. He then became the Manager of Sales Operations for Xerox and then retired in 1994.

He was very active in sailing and racing in the Finger Lakes and Lake Ontario. He also enjoyed fly fishing, boating, camping, gardening and skeet and trap shooting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie and his brother, Philip. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Linda; son, Paul Carlier and his wife Deborah; daughter, Lisa Kennedy and her husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Amanda Stern, Melissa and Megan Carlier and Nathan Kennedy; sisters-in-law, Myra Dewey, Leslie Fehrenbach and her husband Gregory, Louise Carlier Nelson and her husband Richard; nephew, William Dewey; and nieces, Kristin and Emma Ferhrenbach.

Special thanks to Millennium Physician Group, Approved Nursing Home Health Care and TideWell Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gulf Cove United Methodist Church, 1100 McCall Road, Port Charlotte, Fla.

There will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Gulf Cove United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the church. Memories and condolences may be left online at
