Wow! A big thank you goes to every one of people that came to the Roast Beef Dinner at the Webster’s Crossing United Methodist Church last Saturday, March 15! People came from all over, even some very special folks from Avon that we had not seen for many years! The food and organization for the evening went smoothly and every one of the people that helped to advertise, prepare food, provide good service, and clean up afterwards is congratulated.
“Sunday was a good day for a winter hike – bright sun and cool temperatures.” Mark Hopkins writes. Indeed March 16 was a good day to hike with the Springwater Trails hiking group and then enjoy the delicious food hosted by Joan and Bob. “We had 21 hikers (most on snow shoes) on Rob’s Trail off Route 15A just north of Springwater. Rob’s trail starts at the top of Bald Hill and passes through the shrubs in a former field, then heads down through the state forest to Canadice Lake. Three distinct environments were enjoyed on the two hour hike. Next week Springwater Trails will hike to the top of an East Springwater hill for views of the entire town. The hike will be followed by the Annual Meeting. Obtain more details at SpringwaterTrails.org.”
