TROUPSBURG — A Newfield man has been charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespass for illegally entering a dog kennel to retrieve his dogs, authorities said.
Wayland-based State Police said Kevin E. Pierce, 40, of Cole Circle, cut a chain and entered the town of Troupsburg dog kennel on Feb. 9. Troopers say Pierce's dogs had been secured earlier in the day by the town dog warden after a local resident reported the animals were running at large.
Both charges are class A misdemeanors. Pierce was processed and released on a court appearance ticket for March 12.
