Dansville—Fern Patricia Carmody passed away at her home in Dansville, Thursday January 2, 2014, at the age of 83.

Fern was born in Dansville on January 11, 1930, the daughter of the late Earl and Alta Moose Kinney. She had worked at a number of places including the old Dansville Hotel but for the most part Fern was a homemaker, keeping busy raising her family. She was a former member of the Moose Club and was an avid Bingo Player.

Besides her parents, Fern was predeceased by her husband Bernard Carmody and long time companion Bill Sullivan. Daughters Deloris NiCastro and Kay Hamilton and sons Norman and John Carmody.

Fern is survived by her daughters Carol Sherrod and Ellen Totman both of Dansville and Betty Carmody of Scottsville. Sons Jay (Gail) Carmody of Dalton, Jed Carmody of Canaseraga and Joseph and Gerald Sullivan both of Dansville. Brother Dave Kinney of Tannersville. Many grand children, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Sunday, January 5, at the Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 4 Perine St., Dansville, where services were held at the conclusion of calling hours.
