A Red Robin could be coming to the Southern Tier Crossing retail plaza in Horseheads.
The Town of Horseheads Planning Board will review the preliminary site plans at its next meeting, set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Horseheads Town Hall, 150 Wygant Road.
Red Robin is a chain restaurant that features about two dozen varieties of gourmet burgers. There are about 500 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
Along with gourmet burgers that come with steak fries, Red Robin also offers salads, soups, appetizers, wraps, entrées, desserts, wraps, a signature lemonade and a full bar.
If approved, the 4,402-square-foot restaurant would be located on a vacant parcel at 720 County Route 64, which is between the Cracker Barrel and Mavis Discount Tire in Southern Tier Crossing, said Tom Skebey, Horseheads code enforcement officer.
Skebey wasn't yet sure of the company's targeted opening date.
• Also Wednesday, the planning board will review applications for special use permits for a pair of compressor stations for natural gas pipelines.
One is for the Millenium Pipeline and would be located at 78 Hickory Grove Road, while the other is an Anschutz project and would be located at 460 Old Ithaca Road.
They would be fairly small buildings, roughly 10 by 20 foot, Skebey said.
