The Yates County Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners are preparing for the annual Yard N’ Garden Day. The program will take place on Saturday, April 2in the Yates County Auditorium.  The doors open at 8:30 am.
 
Each year the Master Gardeners call on academic and industry horticultural specialists to address gardening topics that the local community has expressed interest in and as always, free vegetable and flower seeds will be provided to each registered participant. This year’s topics include:

The Dragons and Damsels of New York
 
Understanding and Managing Your Soil Using the Cornell Soil Health Test
 
The event will start at 9 a.m. and will run until 12:30 p.m. and will be located in the Yates County Auditorium.  The Yates County Auditorium is in the basement of the Yates County Office building located at 417 Liberty Street, Penn Yan. 

The cost of the event is $12 per person.  Refreshments will be provided through the entire event.  Each attendee will be provided with speaker handouts, educational materials and free seeds.  The seeds have been graciously donated by Bejo Seeds Inc. and Gurney’s.
